About the Journal
The Journal of Public and Nonprofit Affairs (JPNA) is a peer-reviewed, open source journal sponsored by the Center for Public Affairs Research at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The journal is published by the Midwest Public Affairs Conference (MPAC). JPNA focuses on providing a connection between the practice and research of public affairs. This is accomplished with scholarly research, practical applications of the research, and no fees for publishing or journal access. JPNA publishes research from diverse theoretical, methodological, and disciplinary backgrounds that addresses topics related to the affairs and management of public and nonprofit organizations. JPNA congratulates Dr. Jaclyn Piatak on being named the next Co-Editor-in-Chief of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly! Dr. Piatak has been serving as the inaugural Associate Editor of JPNA's New Voices section since 2021 and has been instrumental in launching this new section aimed at publishing peer-reviewed articles by pre-tenured faculty and graduate students. JPNA is on the move! JPNA's own Editor-in-Chief Dr. Deborah A. Carroll has been named Director of the Government Finance Research Center in the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois Chicago where she will also hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Public Administration.
